ASA-WNC Our goal at ASA-WNC is to bring about legislation in the State of North Carolina to protect cannabis patients, their doctors and caregivers from arrest. Further, as these laws change, it is our goal to provide quality control to state dispensaries through our NC Cannabis Patient's Network to maintain clean, safe standards for our patients. We plan to join with thousands of others and petition congress on a national level to reschedule cannabis so doctor's can write prescriptions for patients that may benefit from it's use, and to provide researchers with a safe, legal supply. We must end the misinformation, the propaganda and the bad laws. We Are The Ones We've Been Waiting For - - - If not us, who? If not now, when???
ASA-WNC at NC House Science & Technology Committee, Raleigh, NC June 25, 2008 ASAWNC members attended the meeting of the NC Science & Technology Committee in the auditorium of the NC Legislation Building in Raleigh. From across the state, members traveled to hear testimony by former surgeon-general, Dr. Jocelyn Elders, Dr. Laura Hanson, professor at Chapel Hill Medical University, ASAWNC director, Jean Marlowe, and Dixie Deerman, patient and RN, from Asheville, NC all testified regarding the public benefits from medical marijuana legislation in the State of North Carolina.
